I have a crush on my husband… and some of the reasons why

Seriously… y’all I can’t help it. He’s EVERYTHING!

Just a few of my favorite memories of this guy
He shakes his head at my shenanigans, supports my crazy ideas, coaches me when I don’t want to be coached, and loves me unconditionally!

I don’t know what’s happening… he just gets hotter every day and I can’t get enough of him! (You embarrassed yet, B? 😘)

My sweet husband and I have been married for 6 years but we have been together for more than 10.

We met in college at a homecoming party (his fraternity and my sorority we paired together for homecoming– we won….duh!). He was a complete gentleman and walked me home to the Kappa house after the party. The rest is history. (There might be more to the story, but both of our parents read this blog…. and in their minds we were perfect angels that didn’t party… teeheee!)

We started dating, got a dog, graduated college, got jobs, got married, bought a house, got a second dog, had a baby, bought a bigger house, got a cat, and had a second baby.

Phew! That’s a lot of milestones in 10 years (that doesn’t include work milestones, but I don’t want to bore you).

We have had a great start to our marriage and a great start for our ever after.

So now, let me go into more detail about WHY I have a crush on my husband.

1.) I’m CRAZY…. and he’s into it

I truly believe that we are all a little bit crazy, and we just have to find someone out there that can handle our own particular kind of crazy. My emotions are all over the place. Having kids only intensified my mood swings.

You know what he does? He loves me through it. He tries to fix the issue and has never once lost his cool while I’ve been in the midst of losing mine.

He’s a saint.

2.) He sword fights, calls the hogs, AND sings Disney songs (be still my heart!)

Being a parent means you have to check your dignity at the door a lot of times. Y’all, this guy can do no wrong in the eyes of his babies. The dude loves a sword fight with his daddy and Sass lights up EVERY TIME he turns on the Disney radio station during a road trip (anything Frozen or Little Mermaid is her jam right now!)

He can sing the Pumba part of Hakuna Matata better than the warthog himself..

3.) He takes care of himself (and looks good doing it)

About 2 years ago, he decided to start eating right and hitting the gym. He said goodbye to his  beloved  Taco Bell bean burritos and said hello to kale and protein. (My little mantra about kale is still my belief…. kale=hell)

Y’all…. my husband is HOTT! (Notice the 2 T’s?? I could add more, but he’s probably already embarrassed enough.)

4,) He’s not much of a talker…. it’s a good thing I am

You know how people say opposites attract? I’m pretty sure we aren’t complete opposites but there are several things that we don’t have in common.

  • I love the spotlight….. he’s okay letting me shine.
  • I could talk all day……he’s a listener.
  • I love RomComs….. he’s all about documentaries.
  • I’m a spender….. he’s a saver.

We have our differences, but at the end of the day, we know that even though we aren’t the same, we work. We are the best version of ourselves when we are together.

5.) He’s 100% supportive of my journey

He thinks I’m beautiful. He has told me time and time again that his only concern is that I am happy. He doesn’t care how much I weigh, or how much makeup I wear. He wants me to feel good in my own skin and exude CONFIDENCE. He and I both know that I’m most confident when I am feeling fit and healthy.

He thinks confidence is sexy… cue Demi Lovato’s song Confident. (This shit’s about to get real!)

Are we the perfect couple? No.

Do we fight? Duh.

Is being married tough? Yep.

Would I want to do this with anyone else? Hell no!

I have dedicated this entire post to my husband because he’s one of the biggest reasons that I’m on this journey (and it’s not because I got fat after HE knocked me up…. twice) it’s because I want to be healthy and live a long life by his side. I want our kids to see their parents and think “man I want that! I want to be in love and healthy!”

So babe, this ones for you! Keep challenging me (in a nice way!), keep supporting me, and keep loving me as well as you do!

Love you!
